We heard you! EVNA expressed our dismay about the prospect of the removal of the Free Fare Zone and called into account the councillors who were considering approving the recommendation to remove the zone. You can see that letter here:

After long debate, ultimately the decision was deferred until Q1 2027 and a motion to direct the City of Calgary administration to undertake further engagement with stakeholders in the Downtown including businesses, organizations, and arts organizations was passed. 

EVNA will continue to advocate for the Free Fare Zone as the process continues.
