History of East VillageThe following content has been researched, verified, and compiled to be read and enjoyed by all those who have called —or will call— the East Village home, and to those with a curiosity about our neighbourhood's demolished, vanished, and colourful past founded by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company Land Department in 1884. Behind every community and surrounding area are stories and histories. Too often they are unknown to developers or residents, or are unappreciated by them. What follows in this section of the EVNA website is an attempt to preserve in pictures, words, humour, and images some of the early historical heritage regarding East Calgary's, Section 15 (in railway terminology). Like the East Village itself, this website is still under construction. |
